Frequently Asked Questions

Residential Roofing Services
  • My roof looks fine from the ground. How do I know if there’s enough damage to file a claim with my insurance company?

One of our trained professionals will perform a free, no-obligation, 20-minute roof inspection to see if there’s any damage that could warrant an insurance claim. Oftentimes, damage isn’t visible from the ground. Summit Renovation has a 90% success rate with insurance companies once we recommend that you file a claim.

  • My roof is so old that the insurance company won’t pay enough to replace it, will they?

Insurance policies are written for full replacement cost, and old roofs are just as insured as newer ones. In fact, the older your roof is, the more susceptible it is to damage, especially hail damage – which means you could be eligible for a replacement by filing an insurance claim.

  • Is this an insurance scam?

No. An insurance scam is when someone intentionally creates damage to file a claim. After we perform our roof inspection, insurance companies will send a trained professional (called an adjuster) to come out and inspect the property to ensure that there’s legitimate damage to support the claim. We will not represent a homeowner who we believe has intentionally caused damage to a roof or any other structure just to have the insurance company pay for a replacement.

Did You Know?

90% of our residential roofing clients have their roof replacement covered by their insurance company. In most circumstances, insurance companies cover the cost as a result of hail damage that is not necessarily visible from the ground, but is detected upon in-depth inspection.
